Answers to Your Questions About Eternal Purpose Recovery

Located in sunny Los Angeles, Eternal Purpose Recovery Center provides first-rate treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. When outpatient counseling alone is insufficient – residential care for addiction and mental health offers a way forward.

Eternal Purpose Recovery is a place for healing and personal development. Our mission is to not only help restore the health and wellness of every person we treat – but to instill in them the tools they need to continue their growth long after treatment is completed.

On this page, you will find answers to the questions we are asked most often about Eternal Purpose Recovery’s Southern California drug and alcohol rehab and the services we provide.

Frequently Asked Questions

The usual length of stay at Eternal Purpose Recovery is a minimum of 30 days. Some patients may stay longer depending on their needs. We recommend following your individualized treatment plan to the best of your ability for the best results. Your plan will also include recommendations and/or referrals for continuing care and follow-up after you complete your addiction treatment in our Southern California facility.

Thanks to The Mental Health and Addiction Parity Act and the Affordable Care Act (ACA), all health insurance plans must now offer comparable mental health and substance abuse treatment benefits. This means that if you have private health insurance, then by law, it must cover drug and alcohol rehab. Private health insurance plans include any plan you receive through an employer, a relative’s employer or a plan you purchase on the federal government’s Healthcare Exchange website.

This means the chances are good that your health insurance plan will pay toward your addiction treatment. How much treatment and what type of treatment, (i.e. detox, inpatient, intensive outpatient, etc.) varies from plan to plan. The quickest way to find out if you can use your plan for treatment at Eternal Purpose Recovery is to give us a call at 1-888-294-5153 and ask for an “insurance benefits verification”.

The insurance benefits verification is completely confidential and does not obligate you or your loved one to come here for treatment. Neither does the initial telephone screening. Both of these services are provided by Eternal Purpose Recovery for free to help you make an informed decision about drug and alcohol treatment. Your verification of benefits usually takes less than an hour and the prospective patient can usually complete the phone screening with our admissions team at the same time.

Our case workers will be happy to help you with any documentation you need for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or short-term disability coverage. Bear in mind that you will need to begin your request for FMLA leave before entering our alcohol and drug rehab in California. You are welcome to contact our admissions department at 1-888-294-5153 for information about our program and advice on speaking to your HR department about FMLA.

Going to addiction treatment in California is an entirely legitimate reason to use medical leave. It is a medical necessity as much as a surgical procedure you might need. Federal law also protects your privacy in this matter, which means you cannot be discriminated against at your job for going to rehab. You can learn more about the Family and Medical Leave Act on the Department of Labor’s FMLA FAQ page here.

Eternal Purpose Recovery is a therapeutic environment designed to be conducive to healing. We also have a duty and obligation to protect the privacy and dignity of our clients. Because of this, we generally do not allow patients to carry their smartphones or have their computers while in detox or inpatient treatment.

You will be able to make phone calls to family and loved ones at designated times after your detox blackout period ends though. If you have special circumstances that warrant the need for limited access to a computer or phone outside of the usual rules, please discuss your needs with your admissions coordinator before you admit and we can see if accommodations can be made.

Our accommodations are all designed to be semi-private. We believe that it is more beneficial to recovery for patients not to isolate themselves, especially in early recovery. If you have special circumstances (medical reasons or otherwise.) that require a single room please discuss your needs with your admissions coordinator before you admit and we can see if accommodations can be made.

12-step meetings and the 12-step process are frequently a very important part of the recovery process. We believe in the effectiveness of these programs, when people follow them through and work the steps in earnest. In fact, 12-step programs like Alcoholics Anonymous are scientifically proven to be effective.

However, meetings and stepwork are not the same thing as professional medical care. Both AA and NA meetings and alcohol and drug rehab are helpful. For the sake of both safety and comfort and the best possible chance at lasting sobriety – you should get a medical detox followed by professional inpatient drug treatment in California.

This will ensure that you safely make it through the withdrawal phase when people are most vulnerable. Evidence-based inpatient drug treatment at a premier California rehab like Eternal Purpose Recovery also provides self-knowledge, insight and powerful tools to help you maintain sobriety over the long term.

The truth is the ‘cold turkey’ method has an awful success rate. The wisest approach to recovering from addiction is to take all the professional help you can get. Addiction is not to be underestimated or taken lightly. You should take every advantage you can get in overcoming it. You are statistically far more likely to get sober and stay sober if you go to a California drug rehab for at least 30 days.

At Eternal Purpose Recovery we embrace an evidence-based philosophy. This means we rely on treatment methods that have been proven effective in clinical research. But we also recognize that every individual has a unique set of challenges. We believe striking this balance is one of the keys to effective addiction treatment.

Because we maintain a smaller patient population than the usual, run-of-the-mill large California rehab centers, we can build more authentic connections with each client we treat. We never lose sight of the person behind the addiction. We always consider the different facets of their experience and trauma that impact their life experience.

We believe these principles are what define true holistic addiction care. We work to ensure our patients always feel seen, heard and understood here. If you or someone you love could benefit from personalized, evidence-based addiction treatment in Los Angeles, give us a call at 1-888-294-5153 to learn more.
